Accommodation

 

A DESCRIPTION OF THE CARE HOME AND THE PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

 

The Home is ideally situated in a quiet cul de sac in Parkgate on the Wirral.  It has exceptional views of the Dee Estuary.

Parkgate is situated within easy access of most recognised Motorway links, M6, M56, and M53.

Parkgate Parade is within a short walking distance which has a variety of small local shops and Restaurants.  Neston Village is also a 10 – 15 minute walk which has a larger variety of shops, banks, library, churches, village hall etc.

Parkgate and Neston is linked by a regular bus service to Liverpool / Chester and surrounding areas. Neston also has a train station and there are 2 local taxi firms.

Hartford Hey is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide residential accommodation for 28 individuals. We have 22 single and 3 double bedrooms, 2 lounges, 1 dining room, conservatory, hairdressing salon and extensive gardens. 

The accommodation offers a private room with either en-suite or washing facilities, TV point and furniture.  There is also the opportunity for individuals to bring a small amount of their own personal items and furniture if they so wish. Personal telephone lines can be installed at the individuals own cost.

There is an 8 person passenger lift which accesses all floors. There are three bathrooms, 2 with hydraulic chair lifts and one large walk in shower room. All rooms and facilities are disabled friendly.

Maintenance and cleaning of the home is routinely carried out by a full domestic staff team and maintenance person.

 

All residents’ individual accommodation is fully decorated and fitted with nurse call systems. Residents are encouraged to bring small items of furniture and other personal possessions of their choice to personalise their rooms. They can have their own TV and can install a private telephone should they wish.

 

We also have visiting Dentist, Chiropodist, Physiotherapist, Optician and Hairdresser.

A plan for fire evacuation is available to all residents and is also available for viewing on the back of the door in their own room and throughout the building.

 

Dining Facilities

We strive to deliver a nutritional and balanced diet which is both appetising and tailored to individual dietary needs and expectations.

This helps to sustain life and good health and reduces the risks of malnutrition and dehydration. Additional snacks and drinks are available 24 hours a day on request.

Assistance is given to those who require help in taking diet and fluids. Intake is monitored and additional observations such as weight gain / loss are recorded and acted upon.

We employ 2 chefs who produce all of our meals in house and liaise daily with individuals in relation to their choice of food and drink. Their food safety training is updated regularly in accordance with Environmental Health Regulations and we have achieved the Environmental Health Food Hygiene Rating of Level 5.

We have an excellent support network with Health Professionals, Speech And Language Therapist (SALT), Nutritionist and Diabetic Nurses.

We are a dog friendly home and welcome family members and friends who wish to bring their pets when visiting the Home. (Risk assessments are in place which must be adhered to).
